PROMOTERS AND COLLEAGUES OF DAME SHIRLEY
Ernest Maxim (BBC Producer to Shirley Bassey and Morecambe and Wise Shows).
You could be the next Shirley Bassey, You're as powerful as Shirley in her prime.

Official Bassey Fan Club (Secretary for 40 years) (Hilary Finney).
I am very critical of those who imitate Shirley, no one can do her justice, you came on stage not only with her dress but a voice to match. I thought I was back at her concert.

Gerry Freeman (Shirley's drummer for 15 years).
I am sure that in front of the same size orchestra as Shirley you would convince almost anyone that you were the real thing.

David Spencer (Tour brochure photographer for DSB) from 1995 to 2007. Photographer and advisor of Christie Gown Brochure 2003. (DSB gown auction) The official photographer of Noah's Ark Appeal. DSB hospital Wing 2004 (Events attended by Dame Shirley Bassey) Mr Spencer is also a Fan of some 25 years standing.
I didn't think it was possible to get so close to the real thing, I've photographed both of you, I feel you are the only one to get it right, I know, no one has studied her like me.

Ken Clarke H M Lord Chancellor

They tossed red roses at the stage, Ok it's not the Dame but you would be forgiven for making the mistake because Carolyn is so uncanny on so many levels that you would think it's the Dame.

THE DAME'S FANS' QUOTES

The Dame Shirley Bassey Message Board Says:
'Amazing Voice', Posted by Simon on March 27, 2010, 3:37 am, 91.107.27.144

For me it could have been Quaffers Theatre Restaurant in 1992, with this intimate venue, I was transported back in time.

The timpani hit that note and shivers went down my spine. >Michael Alexander's fanfare of Goldfinger followed and Carolyn entered to Diamonds are forever. It was spookily entrancing and equally thrilling. I was on the front row and was amazed at Carolyn's vocal prowess, it takes a lot of work to create that Bassey voice, Carolyn managed it with ease.

The numbers were expertly executed. Carolyn's voice, very powerful. Her eyes for me did it and in "Born to Lose" I could have been at Blackpool Opera house in the 90s. If you can see Carolyn as DSB go and watch her, it's a super night out to hear those beautiful songs; it is a DSB concert. Gowns and hair super, but I went for the music and Carolyn hit all the money notes for me

I attended a concert performance by Carolyn Rowe as DSB I have to say that the overall effect was simply stunning.

Once you put the vocals together with the stage persona, the dresses, the mannerisms (not just the hands but the walk and the eyes too) plus of course the music we all know so well, it is easy to be carried away in "belief". I certainly enjoyed the evening.

A great show from Carolyn (and her musicians) and with some of the esteemed DSB "superfans" in attendance too, the whole effect was enhanced with the presentation of bouquets ... just like the real thing!!

Hopefully, news of further forthcoming concerts will filter through to us here. It really is a wonderful show and well worth going to see. Carolyn received a standing ovation from sections of the audience (and not just from the diehard DSB fans amongst us either). Comments I overheard after the show were nothing but complimentary.

I was on the front row seat 16, stage right. It was super !!! I got a carnation of CAROLYN's !! IT WILL GO with the one I got from The Dame in Blackpool in the 90s!

"Carolyn Rowe as DSB", Posted April 8, 2010, 5:51, 90.42.86.73

I flew in to see Miss Rowe perform .What a wonderful evening had by all. Friends of mine had been to see her, and said how fantastic the show was. All I can say is the trip was worth making. Her vocals were truly impressive , mannerisms spot on to. The band is extremely gifted, not forgetting those beautifully crafted costumes (how I would love to have a dress made for me by her designer,

Terry Auden (Fan for 35 Years).
"I've seen Dame Shirley Bassey in every European city from Oslo to Monte Carlo. I've seen her hundreds of times, I know DSB. Carolyn Rowe is the most amazing tribute artist I have ever seen. This Carolyn Rowe tribute is 24 carat class. Carolyn Rowe is a star in the making. She's almost as good as Bassey, I should know. Carolyn Rowe is in a different league to every other DSB tribute out there.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY after requesting a recording and choosing the songs.
"OH GOD THIS IS SO SPOOKY, I'm taking it home to Monte Carlo".
(Andrew McGowan P.A to Shirley I.M.G)
